10 BAD HABITS WHILE DRIVING
Just check how many of these bad habits do you have.
In India, two things keep on increasing, the population and the number of vehicles running on the roads. Day by day, the roads are getting crowded with vehicles. While in that respect are exceedingly serious and obedient drivers on the route but there are cars revving like they are working to overcome the escape velocity or changing lanes like a serpent. These matters come under bad habits of driving.
Thus, here is a list of most common bad habits people possess while they ride:
1. DRINKING and DRIVING
We totally know how disastrous this is. Consumption of alcohol slows down the blood flow to the brain and that leads to dizziness and at times senselessness resulting in accidents. This is the reason why everyone is advised not to mix drinking and drive.
2. SPEEDING
Yes, we can see you have got a BMW Z4 but that doesn’t mean you make it an aircraft. Over speeding is foolishness and is necessarily a habit you need to get rid of.
3. NOT USING TURN SIGNALS
Many of us face this everyday. A speeding SUV suddenly turns right and you have no idea what went on. The turn indicators are meant for a purpose and not just flashing decorative lights. Learn to use them!
4. USING MOBILE PHONES WHILE DRIVING
Taking a call from your boss while driving just to avoid getting late to the office doesn’t make you smart. People update their Facebook status’ while driving. It is being foolish by any means.
5. NOT FOLLOWING TRAFFIC RULES
The light turns yellow and you step on the gas! And then you crash. Driving without wearing your seatbelt is also violating traffic rules. Please respect this Nils Bohlin’s creation and add more years to your life.
6. NOT CARRYING VALID DOCUMENTS
There are many people who don’t have a driving license but are driving. The basic documents required to drive on the road include your DL, vehicle’s RC, Insurance and Pollution certificate. Do carry them with you always.
7. LOW MAINTENANCE OF VEHICLE
A great deal of traffic jams occur due to the breakdown of vehicles. Improper servicing can lead to disastrous results. Always take care of your car and it will take care of you.
8. FAILURE TO CHECK BLIND SPOTS
Sudden lane changes are common on our roads. Sometimes, the driver fails to check the blind spots causing trouble. So, keep calm and drive on!
9. SLEEPLESSNESS
If you feel uneasy while driving or it is difficult to open your eyes wide, avoid driving. Get proper rest and be safe on the roads.
10. TAILGATING
Although, it is less observed since we are great at overtaking from every possible corner but tailgating should be averted. It irritates the driver in front of you, and can result in a collision if suddenly brakes are used.
Always abide by the traffic regulations and dodge the above listed bad habits (and the not listed ones too) for safer roads.!!
